Cadillac CTS SportWagon – Times Square, NYC

Tuesday, December 01, 2009

The Vegas-rivaling glow in Times Square provided ample illumination for these tasty twilight shots of Cadillac’s all-new CTS Sport Wagon. Good thing it’s the only neighborhood in Manhattan with zoning ordinances requiring building owners to display illuminated signs. Like Ron Burgundy, the Cadillac of station wagons is kind of a big deal. Not only is it aiming directly at European rivals like the supercharged Audi A6 Avant and turbocharged BMW 535i xDrive Sport Wagon but it’s currently the sole domestic wagon on sale in North America now that Dodge Magnum and Malibu Maxx have been laid to rest.

As you can see from the stealth aircraft-inspired Art & Science bodywork, this razor sharp “station wagon” is a far cry from the Detroit’s wood-paneled monstrosities circa 1970. The optional 3.6L direct injection mill found under hood is shared with Camaro and makes a throaty 304 HP for nearly $15,000 less than ze Germans. Couple that in with GM’s rear wheel drive (optional AWD) Sigma II platform and you have yourself a pretty competent dance partner for attacking the twisties. Still think wagons are lame?

Hendrick Cadillac opens a new chapter in luxury motoring!

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

All that you have known about automobile sophistication is now passé. 2009 will be a landmark year, when in spring, Hendrick Cadillac presents the new benchmark in automobile luxury, the 2010 Sport Wagon!

Pebble Beach, California has the honor of hosting the world premiere of Cadillac’s latest production-car design. The 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon was unveiled at the Monterey Peninsula inviting, naturally, awed looks and total amazement.

This model sets the new paradigm for wagon design, cutting outer space dramatically, while offering lots inside. This will be a sensible alternative to bigger utility vehicles.

The uniqueness of this vehicle is that it is a new body type, a smaller SUV, just what the discerning consumer in you were looking out for –a vehicle with all the amenities, power and utility of an SUV, but with a more convenient body!

The 2010 CTS Sport Wagon is a tribute to Cadillac’s designers, who have added a host of innovative and strikingly attractive design elements:

  • New 19-inch wheels

  • CHMSL integrated in subtle roof spoiler

  • Power-opening liftgate (via key fob or in-vehicle button)

  • Signature V-shaped deck and tailgate motif

  • Integrated roof load management system with cross bars for a seamless appearance

  • Large, vertical taillamps with light-pipe technology

  • Larger available panoramic rear sunroof

  • Cargo management system with adjustable in-floor containment, and lots more.

All these sit merrily on a powerful 3.6-liter, V6 engine that spits out 263 and 304 horsepower.

It carries the unique seal of Cadillac all along. Its neatly chiseled rear profile gives the wagon a touch of contemporary design. This model is based on the extremely popular CTS Sport sedan, and is a sibling of another illustrious member of the Cadillac family, the CTS Coupe Concept.

Like all great things in life, the 2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon is best experienced, not described. To take a look at the distance automobile luxury has traveled, hold your breaths till spring next year!
