"YOUR SAFETY ISN’T OPTIONAL"
"In 1928, Cadillac became the first automaker to incorporate safety glass in all windows. Proud to carry on that legacy, Cadillac still keeps safety a primary concern. So when we had the chance to have the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration run the 2008 Escalade through an optional safety test, we gladly stepped up to the challenge.
As it turns out, when it comes to full size SUVs we were the only ones to go that extra mile.
The results? A five star frontal and side impact rating for the 2008 Escalade, including our EXT and ESV models. We received the highest score possible. But even more valuable to us is the peace of mind that comes with knowing Cadillac’s legacy for safety lives on.
‡ Five-star rating is for the driver and front passenger seating positions in the frontal crash test and for the front and rear seating positions in the side-impact crash test. Side-impact crash test rating is for a model tested with standard Head Curtain side-impact air bags (SABs). Government star ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA's) New Car Assessment Program (www.safercar.gov).

Media comments about the 2008 Cadillac CTS:
"Wow! Is this really a Cadillac? It's not just the best-handling Caddy in history, but probably the best-handling American sedan ever." (Angus MacKenzie - "MotorTrend")
"The big story under hood comes from Cadillac's new direct-injection V6. Injecting gasoline straight into the combustion chamber results in a more thorough combustion process, cleaner emissions, better economy and an increase in output - in this case, to the tune of 304 hp at 6300 rpm... and on regular fuel to boot." (Natalie Neff - "AutoWeek")
"Cadillac's new engine outmuscles most six-cylinder powerplants from Acura, Audi, BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Lincoln and others..." (Richard Truett -"Automotive News")
"Boiled down to what matters most... 2008 Cadillac CTS - with its excellent powertrain, great handling, substantially improved interior and dramatic new styling - succeeds on all levels." (Andrew Bornhop - "Road & Track")
"The tall and distinctive [projector headlamps] look more like a glass-cut chandelier than a pair of automotive lighting devices." (Scott Burgess - "The Detroit News")
"The Cadillac CTS comes closer than any other car I've seen to date in providing the kind of entertainment features and telematics tools the driver and passengers want." (Bill Howard — "Technoride.com")
"The optional navigation system has a screen that retracts into the dash, but the top inch of the screen always remains visible as the primary display for audio and climate control, a real breakthrough in function for nav systems." (Dan Edmunds — "Edmunds Inside Line")

One week, and 2,922 miles later, the Great American Run has finished. How did our friends Buddy Wentz Jr. and Bud Wentz Sr. do in the XLR-V? Great! Finishing the run in 4th place, with the top 5 vehicles separated by only .45 seconds. Initially the top 5 vehicles all tied for 1st place. It wasn't until the organizers further crunched the numbers that they were able to determine the final standings.
Congratulations to Buddy Wentz and his father and a big "Thank You" to all who supported them in their adventure.
